Insurance Information
Faulkner University requires that all student-athletes have primary insurance prior to participating in athletics. The university also has a secondary insurance policy that will help with most injuries related to athletic participation. Below is more information to help you understand the insurance process. If you still have questions after reading the information, please contact the athletic training staff via email at athletictrainers@faulkner.edu.
Domestic Athletes:
All student-athletes are required to carry primary insurance that covers intercollegiate athletic injuries. Out-of-state Medicaid is no longer an acceptable insurance for students participating in Faulkner athletics. Student athletes who do not have primary insurance or who have out-of-state Medicaid should contact their trainer for information on how to enroll in a low-cost insurance plan that will cover their primary medical needs as well as any intercollegiate athletic injuries.
International Athletes:
All international student-athletes are required to carry primary insurance that covers intercollegiate injuries. The coverage must remain in effect for the full academic year with no gaps in coverage. PLEASE NOTE: Policies contracted through HHC Tokio Marine are no longer acceptable insurance plans for Faulkner student athletes.
International student athletes who do not have primary insurance should contact their trainer for information on how to enroll in a low-cost insurance plan that will cover their primary medical needs as well as any intercollegiate athletic injuries.
