John Pollard

John Pollard serves as the Bass Fishing Coach at Faulkner University, where he has led the Eagles’ program since 2017. Under his leadership, the program has grown from a small team into a competitive collegiate bass fishing program, with anglers qualifying for major national championships.

A lifelong Alabama angler and experienced tournament fisherman, Coach Pollard brings years of competitive fishing knowledge to his athletes. His experience competing in Bassmaster and Alabama Bass Trail events gives him a unique perspective on tournament strategy, preparation and the mental side of competitive fishing.

Coach Pollard is passionate about developing not only successful anglers, but also young men and women who demonstrate character, teamwork, perseverance and pride in representing Faulkner University. His commitment to mentoring student-athletes extends beyond the water, as he strives to help them grow both personally and professionally.

John is married to his wife, Molly, and they have two daughters, Katie Pollard Cox and Jordan Pollard. Katie is a graduate of Faulkner University, while Jordan is currently a student at Faulkner. John and Molly also have a son-in-law, Cameron Cox. Family is an important part of John’s life, and he takes great pride in supporting his daughters and their accomplishments at Faulkner University.
