Mike Rogers enters his second season as the ninth head coach in Faulkner Golf history.
"I am extremely excited about this opportunity to coach the young men and women of Faulkner Eagle Golf," Rogers said. "It is my desire that they not only succeed on the course and in the classroom, but they succeed in life and grow spiritually by living Christ-Centered lives. I love people in general. I really just have heart for young people and helping them navigate through these years where it's really hard. There is a lot of pressure on them to succeed but I'm thankful to get to help teach them how to be strong individuals for Christ and also to be successful in their careers."
Rogers has served the past several seasons with the Prattville Christian Academy golf program as the head women's coach and assistant men's golf coach, in addition to his primary work serving with YUGO Missions following 27 years of service in the Prattville Fire Department climbing the ranks as high as Battalion Chief.
Rogers draws some coaching and life motivation from John Wooden when the legendary UCLA coach said, "Success comes from knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming."
With the Prattville Christian Golf programs, Rogers helped cultivate the first two college golf signings from the Panthers in current men's golfer Cooper Osborne and his daughter Allie.
With YUGO Missions, Rogers has helped lead teams into short-term mission trips building homes in Western Mexico as well as leading the 10-week internship program YUGO runs.
