Randy Ragsdale

After 28 years as head coach of Trinity Presbyterian School in Montgomery, Randy Ragsdale was brought back into coaching in the college ranks by Rob Gray in 2021 as associate head coach. Entering the 2025 season for his 47th year in the profession, his focus is on players’ relationships and spiritual lives. 

Ragsdale led the Trinity Wildcats from 1989 until the 2016 season, finishing with an overall record of 242-86. 25 of his 28 teams qualified for the state playoffs. He was inducted into the Alabama High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2018, and guided the team to an undefeated campaign in 2003, winning the AHSAA 4A state championship. 

Off the field, he served as Middle School Dean from 2006 through 2018, before taking the role as Middle and Upper School Dean from 2019 to 2021. He taught Middle School Bible classes during his time as a Trinity faculty member as well. 

Before Trinity, the native of Conyers, Georgia, was defensive coordinator and taught PE at Northview High School in Dothan, Alabama, winning a 6A state title in 1985. A 1979 alumnus of and former offensive tackle for Jacksonville State, he returned there as a GA to coach defensive line from 1981-84 after two years assisting at Georgia high schools. 

Ragsdale has been married to the former Rosemary Hubbard for 37 years. They have two daughters, Caroline and Craegh, and twin grandsons.
