Faulkner takes down Martin Methodist

PULASKI, Tenn. - Faulkner set out to defeat Martin Methodist for a second time this season Friday evening. The two fought it out in a five set battle in a neutral site matchup earlier this season with Faulkner claiming the victory. The Redhawks had home advantage for round two, but after dropping the opening set the Lady Eagles clinched three straight to earn the win 23-25, 25-17, 25-19, 27-25.
 
The visitors fell behind early, but managed to dish out two hard blows to Martin Methodist in sets two and three. The Redhawks clawed back in the fourth however, and held a 9-1lead, before Faulkner managed a win in extended points. 
 
Kelsey Bell led the attack with nine kills, hitting .273, and added seven digs. 
 
Brittnay Renfore and Neysa Hernandez each logged eight kills. Renfroe hit .438 on the night and Hernandez secured nine digs.
Autumn Benson and Jessica Long tallied six kills each, hitting .200 and .150 respectively.
 
Abbie Melvin led the defense with 19 digs and Morgan Wilson had 19 assists, while KK Lo put up 14.
 
The win moves Faulkner to 18-13 on the year. The Lady Eagles will take on Freed-Hardeman in Henderson, Tenn., on Saturday at 1 p.m.
