Rams pummel Lady Eagles

Box Score

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner dropped to 0-3 in the brutal Southern States Athletic Conference this afternoon when visiting Mobile dropped the hammer in Tine Davis Gymnasium. The Rams cruised to a straight set victory 25-13, 25-16, 25-11.

The Lady Eagles put up a good fight early, but were plagued once again by poor defense. Over passing and free balls ruled the day and as a result Faulkner's offense never had a chance. The few sparks were sporadic and quickly snuffed by Mobile.

On the flip side, Mobile was virtually unstoppable. The few lapses in momentum came at their own hand and were usually short-lived.

Mobile hit a staggering .431 as a unit. Faulkner hit .143.

Kiara Gay led the onslaught for the Rams with 16 kills, batting .500, and was second in defense with seven digs.

Bailey Nations followed with 14 kills, hitting a crushing .632.

Faulkner's top three hitters combined for fewer totals than either Ram leader. Shelby Woods had four kills, hitting .571, and had two total blocks.

Brittnay Renfroe and Ariel Riley also had four kills each and hit .300 and .143 respectively.

Faulkner's dig leader was libero Anna DeRamus with four and Morgan Wilson topped out the setting category with seven assists.

The Lady Eagles have yet to win a set in conference action.

Faulkner dropped to 3-7 overall and will travel to crosstown rival Huntingdon on Tuesday. That match is set for 7 p.m.
