Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Lady Eagles took the court in front of a roaring home crowd tonight in Tine W. Davis Gymnasium looking for their first Southern States Athletic Conference win of the season. Faulkner earned that win in style as it cruised to victory 25-12, 25-10, 25-11.
Faulkner dominated in every facet of the game and outhit the visitors .297 to -.167.
Shelby Woods was a major contributor to that number with nine kills, hitting .462.
Brittnay Renfroe followed closely with eight kills, hitting .308, and Kelli Lamb tallied seven kills, hitting .333.
Morgan Wilson and Sarah Ford split the task of loading the weapons with 15 and 12 assists respectively.
Anna DeRamus and Lindsey Ortner did the same on defense offering up 13 and 11 digs respectively.
The evening was bittersweet however, as the Lady Eagles lost a crucial player before the game began. Junior outside Kelsey Bell, who's been the leading offensive threat in recent games, went down with a knee injury in warmups. How much time she'll miss remains uncertain.
Faulkner (5-9/1-5) will have time to rest up before its next bout. The Lady Eagles will host No. 6 Lee in an SSAC showdown on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.
