MOBILE, Ala. - A Mobile goal just over four minutes into play ultimately proved the deciding blow  in Thursday's Southern States Athletic Conference showdown here against Faulkner.

George Stannard put Mobile on the board just 4:31 into the game following a well-executed double assist effort courtesy of Adedapo Adeniyi and Jubril Lawal. 

Both sides remained scoreless for the ensuing 85 minutes despite numerous shots by both sides. 

The offenses were rather even-keeled with Mobile taking 14 total shots and Faulkner producing 13. The teams placed five and three on frame respectively.

Pritchard Ndaira (4-3-1) suffered the loss with four saves in tow.

Faulkner dropped to 4-3-1 overall and 0-1 in the league. The Eagles next travel to Brewton-Parker for an SSAC battle at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Mt. Vernon, Ga.
