McKENZIE, Tenn. - Bethel road three first half goals to a 3-0 final against Faulkner here in today's Southern States Athletic Conference tournament opening round match.

The Wildcats outshot the visitors 25 to nine in the outing, but it was the three Bethel landed out of the eight it placed on target in the first half that defined the outcome.

Samuel Goni landed an unassisted goal just over four minutes into play to put the home team on the board.

Goni then logged an assist in the 31st minute when he found Rick Rokohl who made the game 2-0.

Antonio Peiriea then knocked in the game's final goal three minutes before halftime.

Diego de Silva (0-2) logged and impressive 10 saves and allowed three goals in the loss.

This was only the second time in program history that Faulkner earned a berth in post-season action and its first appearance in five years.

Faulkner closed the year at 5-9-2 overall and 1-6-1 in the league.
