Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner utilized an arsenal of effective offensive weapons while limiting Brenau's two biggest sluggers to manageable damage in tonight's 25-18, 25-19, 25-21 Southern State Athletic Conference victory here at Tine Davis Gym.
"Our goal was to hold Sydney Koon to single-digit kills while also keeping tabs on Cayla Graham," said head coach Tori Bartels after the game. "We managed to do that while spreading the ball out on our side of the net. We came out strong and executed our game plan and it paid off for us in front of a really big home crowd."
Koon delivered nine kills for the Golden Tigers while Graham added seven more; combining for 62 percent of the visitor's total offense.
On the flip side it was once again Sarah Dubberley who anchored the Lady Eagles and secured her 13th double-double of the season. The senior outside hitter lead on both sides of the ball with 11 kills, hitting .409, and 11 digs.
Hannah Shanley followed with eight kills hitting .235.
Alysa Klassen, Bailey Mount and Tori Marchant each added seven kills hitting .333, .455 and .636, respectively. Klassen also tallied three total blocks and Mount added a pair.
Jordan Jones led the setting core with 38 assists and had three digs. Katie Musser offered up 31 more assists and was third with nine digs.
Libero Cassie Bailie had 10 digs and Delricka Anthony had seven.
Faulkner improved to 17-10 overall and 7-4 in the league. The Lady Eagles next host Dalton State in SSAC action tomorrow at 2 p.m.
