MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner was looking to knock No. 25 Mobile from its perch atop the Southern State Athletic Conference standings in Thursday evening's league matchup here at John Mark Stallings Field, but the Ram's lone goal in the first half was enough to secure the 1-0 decision.

The score came with just under nine minutes remaining in the opening period when Newton Henry dribbled near the goal line drawing Faulkner goalkeeper Diego da Silva to the post. Newton then crossed the ball to Pierre Mangold near mid-net who tucked the shot home.

Two saves and the goal were tallied for da Silva (8-5-1) in the event.

Faulkner dropped to 8-6-1 overall and 3-4 in the SSAC. The Eagles close out the regular season at home on Saturday against Brewton-Parker at 7 p.m. The team will honor the seniors in a special ceremony prior to the game.
