Faulkner dismantles Martin Methodist 3-1

PULASKI, Tenn. - With the exception of the second set, Faulkner had little trouble clinching tonight's Southern States Athletic Conference victory against Martin Methodist 25-14, 27-25, 25-16, 25-18.

 

Alysa Klassen was brilliant on both sides of play at the net. The middle blocker led the Lady Eagles with 16 kills while hitting a lights-out .727. Klassen also led defensively with five total block and added five digs.

 

Outside hitters Hannah Shanley and Sarah Dubberley were in hot pursuit with 12 and 11 kills, respectively, and both players hit .296. Dubberley led the back row with 17 digs to tally her 15th double-double of the year. Stanley contributed six digs to the team's total.

 

Katie Musser led the setting tandem with 27 assists and was third defensively with 11 digs. Sarah Ford offered up 12 assists and had four digs.

 

Libero Cassie Bailie was second in deep territory with 15 digs.

 

Faulkner improved to 20-10 overall and 9-4 in the league. The Lady Eagles travel to McKenzie, Tenn., to battle Bethel on Saturday at noon. The Wildcats iced Faulkner 3-0 in their previous showdown this season.
