Faulkner sparks late, blanks Brewton-Parker 3-0

Box Score

MONTOMGERY, Ala. - It took 65 minutes for Faulkner to break the scoring silence in tonight's Southern States Athletic Conference match and  regular season finale against Brewton-Paker, but once on the board it was all down hill. The Eagles struck three times in 15 minutes to secure the 3-0 victory.

Evens Alcide slipped by his defender near mid field and followed with a sliding goal under an approaching keeper from 18 yards out to put Faulkner on the board as the rain began to pick up 20 minutes into the second half.

Jarom Farnsworth then weaved his way through several defenders near the home sideline and fired a rocket into the netting to make the game 2-0 13 minutes later.

Costandinos Whitehead capped the Eagles' scoring assault on an Alex Stutts assist just two minutes later when he blasted a 25-yard shot into the upper 90.

Diego da Silva (9-6-1) tallied four saves in the shutout.

Faulkner closed the regular season at 9-6-1 overall and 4-4 in the league. The Eagles will travel to Bethel for the opening round of the SSAC tourney next week. The day and time have yet to be finalized. Faulkner clipped the Wildcats 1-0 in their regular season matchup.
