Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner took a 1-0 advantage early in the second half against Truett-McConnell here at John Mark Stallings field Friday evening, but the visitors evened things up just a few moments later to guarantee extended play. The Bears then struck three minutes into overtime to claim the 2-1 victory.
Alex Stutts collected a deflected shot 30 yards in from of the netting and toed a rocket by Truett keeper Jacob Walton to give Faulkner the advantage 15 minutes into the second half.
The Bears answered just five minutes later, however, when Kevin Griggs made a brilliant volley into the upper ninety off a Michael Antoniewicz set piece from 40 yards out.
The stalemate held through regulation and three minutes of overtime. Tyrik Francis finally clinched the Truett victory when he connected on a header from Andre Williams.
Diego de Silva (1-1-1) suffered his first loss of the season while allowing a pair of goals and tallying six saves.
Faulkner moved to 1-1-1 and will next take the field against Jarvis Christian on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Hawkins, Texas.
