DALTON, Ga. - Daniel Valencia rocketed a shot into the bottom right corner of the frame with 7:14 remaining in the second overtime of tonight's Southern States Athletic Conference battle to lift Dalton State over Faulkner 2-1.

Dave Chesterman struck first for the Eagles (5-5, 0-3 SSAC) in the 22nd minute curling a through ball from George Redwin over the Diego Gonzalez's right side for the 1-0 lead.

The Roadrunners (9-1-1, 4-1 SSAC) answered in the 39th when Jordan Mann headed home a rebound off the crossbar. 

The stalemate held through regulation and a first overtime before Valencia pocketed the decisive shot.

Faulkner outshot Dalton State 16 to 14 on the night while the two offered up seven strikes on goal each. 

Diego da Silva (5-5) collected five saves and allowed two goals in the loss. 

The Eagles will try to snap a four game losing streak against Martin Methodist (3-7-3, 3-1 SSAC) at home on September 20 at 7:30 pm.
