Faulkner offense explodes in 3-1 win over Martin Methodist

PULASKI, Tenn. -  Faulkner (16-13, 12-6 SSAC) had four attackers with double-digit kills for the first time this season in the Lady Eagles' 25-7, 25-15, 24-26, 25-20 victory over Southern States Athletic Conference foe Martin Methodist (11-16, 8-9) here this afternoon.

 

Senior middle Alysa Klassen led the way with 15 kills while hitting a staggering .565. She also had three block assists.

 

Freshman outside hitter Daijah Washington recorded her second double-double of the year with 11 kills, hitting an impressive .474, and a team-high 15 digs.

 

Sophomore middle Tori Marchant had the exact same attack numbers as Washington and led the front row defensively with four total blocks.

 

Not to be outdone, junior outside hitter Cassie Bailie also tallied 11 kills, hitting .355, and was a single dig off of another double-double performance with nine in the match.

 

Sophomore setter Katie Musser dished out 35 assists and six digs while freshman libero Julianne Wilkes had 10 digs.

 

Faulkner returns to the road this weekend on a three-day stretch to close out the regular season with straight SSAC opponents. The Lady Eagles kick things off on Thursday against Coastal Georgia in Brunswick. The Mariners defeated Faulkner 3-1 previously this season. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. central.
