Hill dominates in Faulkner?s 78-59 win over Concordia

Box Score

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Di'mar Hill posted a career-high 36 points in Faulkner's (6-5) 78-59 pummeling of Concordia (6-2) here at Tine Davis Gymnasium this evening.

Hill, who missed the first eight games of the year as a result of a preseason injury, has been nothing short of brilliant since his return against Middle Georgia State the first week of December. In those three games the senior guard has averaged more than 28 points an outing while going to the free throw line nearly 15 times per contest.

Tonight, Hill produced the best offensive numbers of his career while adding six assists and four rebounds. He was 11-for-17 from the floor and knocked down 14-of-19 from the free throw line. Hill's ability to collapse the defense allowed him to shoot as many free throws as the entire Concordia roster combined.

Logan Jozwiak also had a stellar night for the Eagles with 21 points and seven rebounds. The junior forward was 5-for-7 from 3-point territory.

Matt Maddox followed with nine points and three boards.

"I thought we played well in the second half defensively, especially after the first few minutes," said head coach Scott Sanderson. "I like going zone when I want to go zone, not when I'm forced to, but that defense paid off well for us late when they started to get tired. Di'mar Hill is an exceptional basketball player and he had a great game. We're a different team when he's on the floor because he creates situations even when he's not scoring points. Concordia is a good basketball team. They had one tough loss coming into this game so this was a good win for us."

Faulkner will enjoy a break through the bulk of the Christmas holiday and will resume action against Blue Mountain College (Miss.) in Southern States Athletic Conference play on Dec. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at Tine Davis Gym.
