Brenau holds off Faulkner 99-97 in 2OT

GAINESVILLE, Ga. - Today's back-and-forth Southern States Athletic Conference duel between Faulkner (6-4, 0-2 SSAC) and Brenau (8-1, 1-0 SSAC) was ultimately decided by a pair of clutch free throws courtesy of Autumn Dotson with eight seconds remaining in the second overtime. The Golden Tigers' clinched the win 99-97.

 

The brawl saw 22 lead changes and 21 ties with no team leading by more than eight points through 50 minutes of action. It was the Lady Eagles' first double-overtime event since the season finale against Shorter in 2012.

 

Faith LeGate led all scorers with a career-high 33 points and added nine rebounds.

 

Olivia Adamson recorded her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

 

Shelby Williams was second in scoring with 15 points and China Leary added 12.

 

Faulkner will next travel to Nashville, Tenn., to take on Fisk at 2 p.m. on December 10. The Lady Eagles clobbered the Bulldogs 79-36 in their previous matchup in late November.
