Hill-led Faulkner overcomes Dalton State 89-83

DALTON, Ga. - Faulkner (5-5, 1-1 SSAC) trailed by five points at halftime, but outscored undefeated Dalton State (5-1, 0-1 SSAC) by 11 in the second half while shooting nearly 60 percent from the field to secure the 89-83 victory here this evening.

 

The Eagles improved in every aspect of the game from the first to the second half. Faulkner's field goal percentage jumped from 48 to just over 59 percent while the team's free throw percentage saw a boost from 67 to 75 percent despite going to the line nearly three times as often.

 

Deep shots received the biggest tweak between halves. The Eagles shot just 28 percent from behind the arc in the first half, but knocked down half of their efforts in the final 20 minutes while also taking more shots.

 

Numbers on the glass also increased from 18 to 21 rebounds.

 

Di'mar Hill continues to shine for Faulkner. The senior guard led all scorers with 29 points and added four rebounds.

 

Lucas Luttrell had a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards and Jose Jimenez offered up 15 points and six rebounds.

 

Logan Joswiak added 11 points and seven rebounds.

 

Faulkner will next host Concordia-Selma at Tine Davis Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m. on December 13.
