Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner (10-11, 6-3 SSAC) wasted little time in dismantling Middle Georgia State (6-12, 1-8 SSAC) in tonight's Southern States Athletic conference match here at Tine Davis Gym. The Lady Eagles hit .287 as a unit while holding the Knights to zero overall to gain the 25-10, 25-17, 25-15 victory.
Faulkner had a season low 15 errors on the night which helped boost its hitting percentage to one of the highest marks this year. Defensively, the home team was solid as well. The Lady Eagles rank 10th nationally in total blocks and the team added 8.5 more to that tally in the win.
Madelyn Cheatham was the kill leader for Faulkner with 11 and hit an impressive .435. The freshman also added a pair of block assists.
Kiki Coombs followed with 10 kills rocking a .529 hitting percentage and had three block assists.
Middle Tori Marchant had seven kills, hitting .250, while fellow middle Alysa Klassen had seven total blocks and five kills.
Katie Musser dished up 33 assists on the night and had three digs while libero Julianne Wilkes led the Faulkner back row with 14 digs.
The Lady Eagles will look to even the season record with a win over Brewton-Parker tomorrow afternoon when they host the Barons at 2 p.m. at Tine Davis Gym.
