MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner's women's basketball team (3-0) defeated Pensacola Christian 64-46 on Tuesday night in Tine Davis Gymnasium.

The Lady Eagles never trailed in the matchup, and their defense in the second half played a huge roll in the victory.

Savana Flack led the way for Faulker, scoring 16 points and shooting 4-for-8 from behind the three-point arc.

Nicole Shirley followed with 15 points and nearly completed the double-double, pulling down eight rebounds.

Freshman Ashlyn Adkins was the third and final Lady Eagle to finish with double-digit points with 12 and added three steals to her tally.

Faulkner went to their full-court pressure defense in the second half, and it cause a lot of issues for PCC, and the visiting Eagles finished the game with 22 turnovers.

"We'll take a good win," head coach Reed Sutton said. "We're happy to only give up 46 points, and the defense was good, so we're happy about those things. But we've got some things to tighten up before Thursday against South Alabama."

The Lady Eagles will travel to Mobile on Thursday to take on the University of South Alabama in an exhibition. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
