MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner's men's basketball team (7-0) started off slow, but found a way to pull away in the second half to defeat Carver College 97-62 on Tuesday night at Tine Davis Gynmasium.
The Eagles took a 37-29 lead into halftime, but that deficit quickly disappeared when the Cougars got within one point four minutes into the second half.
Faulkner was able to play strong defense down the stretch, find a way to get some stops and made key shots to eventually pull away and put the game out of reach.
The Eagles were dominant on the boards, outrebounding Carver 42-27.
They also assisted on 22 on the 32 made baskets.
Earvin Perroni recorded his third double-double of the season, tallying 14 points and pulling down 12 rebounds.
Lucas Luttrell led the way in scoring for Faulkner with a season-high 20 points.
Marquis Grays continued his high-scoring season with 15 points.
Sean Edwards, Logan Jozwiak and C.J. Jones each scored double digits as well with 12, 11 and 11, respectively.
Faulkner's next game will be on Saturday at noon against Pensacola Christian at Tine Davis Gymnasium.
