Lady Eagles knock out Knights in SSAC opener

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner's women's basketball team (11-0, 1-0 SSAC) defeated the Knights of Middle Georgia State 72-56 at Tine Davis Gymnasium on Thursday night to stay unbeaten and claim its first Southern States Athletic Conference win.

 

The Lady Eagles were able to keep a steady lead throughout the game and never trailed in the matchup.

 

Middle Georgia kept it at a respectable lead until the fourth quarter when Faulkner was able to pull away to seal the win.

 

It was a big day for Brandy Alley as she completed the double-double with 17 rebounds and 10 points.

 

Savana Flack also finished with a double-double, tallying 11 points and pulling down 10 boards.

 

Kayla Tillman had a strong outing from deep. She recorded a team-high 14 points and knocked down four 3-pointers.

 

Inga Armstrong provided strong minutes off the bench with 12 points.

 

Hannah Vest rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Lady Eagles with 11 points.

 

Faulkner next game is against Brewton-Parker on Saturday at Tine Davis Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
