MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Faulkner's women's basketball team (13-1, 2-1 SSAC), lost its first game of the season 72-60 against Southern States Athletic Conference foe No. 24 Bethel on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Eagles were only down five points at the end of the first quarter, and they even went on a 6-0 run in the second period to take a one-point lead early. But the Lady Wildcats would get their lead back on the next possession and would not look back for the remainder of the game.
Chelsea Burt led the way for Faulkner with 16 points and added four rebounds.
Savana Flack fell just short of a double-double, scoring 11 points and pulling down nine rebounds.
Kayla Tillman added 14 points in the contest.
The Lady Eagles will travel to Pulaski, Tennessee, on Monday where they will take on No. 19 Martin Methodist. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
