No. 24 Loyola too much for short-handed Faulkner

Box Score

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Twenty-fourth-ranked Loyola (20-5, 12-3 SSAC) never trailed and led by as many as 28 points en route to a 79-54 victory in this afternoon's Southern States Athletic Conference rematch here against Faulkner (16-10, 8-8 SSAC).

The Lady Eagles took down the Wolfpack 82-77 at Tine Davis Gym in early January, but with Faulkner still battling thin personal at the point guard position, there was little the visitors could do to keep pace this time around.

Kayla Tillman led the Faulkner attack with 19 points and had two rebounds while Faith LeGate offered up 12 points and five boards.

Hannah Vest, who's been filling in at point with the recent absences of China Leary and Chelsea Burt, secured nine points and had six rebounds.

The Lady Eagles will have a week to try and recover some key weapons before they host Brewton-Parker in SSAC action. The matchup will also be the team's PINK OUT event with all gate proceeds and donations going to the Play 4 Kay fund. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. on Feb. 18.
