Faulkner takes down Brewton-Parker 80-69

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner (15-11, 10-7 SSAC) trailed just once in the final 34 minutes of play and led by as many as 18 en route to this evening's 80-69 Southern States Athletic Conference win over Brewton-Parker (8-16, 4-14 SSAC) here at Tine Davis Gymnasium.

Faulkner had six players in double-digit scoring and was led by Di'mar Hill who offered up 15 points and five rebounds and assists.

Marquis Grays followed with 13 points, four boards and a pair of assists while Jose Jimenez, Matt Maddox and Logan Jozwiak each had 11 points. Jimenez was all over the place adding seven rebounds, five assists and three steals to his figures while Maddox had five boards.

Lucas Luttrell had 10 points and three snags of the glass.

"I thought we had a good balance of scoring from our guys tonight," said head coach Scott Sanderson. "I still think we need to be playing better defense, though. We have to strive to play well on both ends of the floor on the same night and we've struggled to do that. I thought our shooting was efficient, except for the last two minutes where we weren't shooting all that much. We need to execute better on defense in these next three games."

Faulkner will next host Coastal Georgia in the home finale Monday night at 7:30 p.m. The team will honor its seniors in ceremony following the game.
