Faulkner barrels through Coastal Georgia in home finale

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner (18-10, 10-8 SSAC) methodically worked its way into a comfortable lead by halftime in tonight's Southern States Athletic Conference contest against Coastal Georgia before exploding in the third quarter and catapulting into the 79-53 victory in the home season finale.

Olivia Adamson had a monster night for the Lady Eagles leading all scorers with a career high 22 points. She also had eight rebounds and a steal.

Kayla Tillman followed with 12 points, anchored by 4-for-7 shooting from behind the arc, and had four assists and a steal.

Faith LeGate's 11-point evening launched her into the 1,000 point career club and she had four rebounds.

Chelsea Burt offered up 10 points, seven assists and three rebounds on the night.

"Our defense played awesome tonight and that gave us a lot of opportunities," said head coach Reed Sutton after the game. "I think we're fun to watch when we play like this and we get into a flow. Olivia had a great night and there's never a better time to do it than your last game at home and on senior night. She's been a vocal leader and everyone roots for those kinds of people. Faith has made a big impact on this team. She's had a great career on the court, but she's been far more than that. She's a culture builder and off the floor she's been amazing. All of our seniors that could play had double-digit points and that's great to see. Now have to play well on the road."

The Lady Eagles will next travel to McKenzie, Tenn., to take on Bethel in SSAC action Thursday evening. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
