No. 14 Bethel blasts Faulkner 97-42

Box Score

McKENZIE, Tenn. - Fourteenth-ranked Bethel (21-9, 17-3 SSAC) closed out the first half of tonight's Southern States Athletic Conference battle with a 21-3 run and never looked back en route to a monster 97-42 victory over Faulkner (18-11, 10-9 SSAC).

The Lady Eagles were held to just 15 first-half points while the home team averaged 24 per quarter throughout the night.

Faulkner shot just 25 percent from the field and 23 percent from behind the arc. Even free throw shooting, which registered at 50 percent in the outing, was below the team's 62 percent standard.

The Wildcats, meanwhile, shot 47 percent from the field, 49 percent from 3-point land and 92 percent from the stripe.

Bethel had four players in double-digit scoring and two others just a point shy of that threshold with Morgan Martin leading the way with 24 points while adding nine rebounds.

Faith LeGate paced the Lady Eagles on both sides of play with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Olivia Adamson followed with eight points and three boards.

Faulkner will close out the regular season against No. 25 Martin Methodist in Pulaski, Tenn., on Saturday at 2p.m.
