HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Faulkner (15-8, 7-6 SSAC) led by as many as 15 points deep in the third period, but a resilient William Carey (4-13, 2-10 SSAC) squad clawed its way back to within a single point with just 10 seconds to play. Smooth free throw shooting from Kayla Tillman and a Hannah Vest steal ultimately secured the 66-63 Southern States Athletic Conference win for the Lady Eagles here at the Reed Green Coliseum on the campus of Southern Mississippi this evening.

Chelsea Burt led all scorers with 19 points and added six assists and four rebounds.

Vest, who went 4-for-7 from behind the arc, closed play with 18 points, five rebounds and four steals and assists.

Faith LeGate followed with 11 points and six rebounds.

Faulkner will next travel to Mobile for an SSAC battle against the Rams. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.
