Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. - An exhausted Faulkner team (9-3) wrapped up a four-match weekend with a straight-sets victory over Huntington College (6-8) 25-17, 25-23, 25-19 as part of the Hawks Invitational here at James W. Wilson Gymnasium this evening.
The Lady Eagles out-muscled conference rival Loyola in a five-set ordeal at home this afternoon before heading across town to extend their win streak to six straight.
Though Faulkner wasn't executing with the same vigor it has shown late against the Wolfpack today, the intensity and consistency was more than enough to solidify a win backed by significant statistical numbers.
As a unit the Lady Eagles hit .398, by far the best percentage in a match this season.
Madelyn Cheatham contributed heavily to that figure with 11 kills while firing with a .444 efficiency.
Krystalynn Leomiti followed with eight kills, hitting .467.
Setter Katie Musser was a dig shy of her second double-double of the day after logging 17 assists and nine digs against the Hawks while adding three service aces.
Ariana Vannoy had 13 assists and libero Julianne Wilkes had a court-high 13 digs.
Faulkner will next host conference nemesis Bethel at 7 p.m. on Friday.
