Box Score

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Faulkner men's soccer team (6-0-1) travelled to Pensacola last night and defeated the Pensacola Christian Eagles (2-2) 3-1 in a one-sided affair.

It was all offense for Faulkner, outshooting the home Eagles 16-2 for the game.

The first shot of the match for Pensacola Christian found the back of the net in the 17th minute. It would be the only shot on frame for PCC, and freshman goalkeeper Caio Calado (6-0-1) wouldn't have to make a save at all in the contest.

Victor de Souza would score the tying goal in the 39th minute, and both teams would go into the break tied with one goal apiece.

It was the second half that got things going for Faulkner. The visiting Eagles took 11 shots in the final 45, including two for Jarom Farnsworth, which turned into goals.

The go-ahead goal came in the 64th minute of action, and Farnsworth was able to seal the deal with his seventh goal of the season only six minutes later. This moved Farnsworth into third all-time in career goals at Faulkner. Victor de Souza assisted on the finish as well.

Faulkner will next travel to Nashville on Friday to take on Fisk University. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
