Box Score Faulkner (6-0) allowed its bench unit to shine Saturday as the Eagles rolled over Carver 93-55.
"Sometimes you're playing against yourself," Faulkner Head Coach Scott Sanderson said. "In a game like this, we were playing against ourselves, especially in the second half when we were up big and sometimes you have a tendency to get complacent."
No Faulkner starter played more than 15 minutes in the victory as five Eagles scored in double figures. Milan Skundric (JR/Negotin, Serbia) finished with 15 points while Sean Edwards (SR/Madison, Ala.) scored 11. The trio of Nate Bradley (JR/Concord, N.Y.), Garrett Sanderson (SO/Montgomery, Ala.) and Trace Hill (FR/Hartselle, Ala.) starred off the bench for the Eagles. Bradley chipped in 15 points while Sanderson had 14 points and six rebounds. Hill notched 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
"I thought Garrett and Nate and Trace, all three of those guys, played well today," Scott Sanderson said. "I thought they shot the ball a little bit better today. They play with a lot of energy. They're good defensively and they're extremely active. They're very important guys off our bench."
Faulkner never trailed in the game and relied on a frenetic tempo to put Carver behind the proverbial eight ball early. The Eagles led by 22 at halftime, ratcheting up the defensive pressure in the second half to force a total of 22 turnovers in the game.
Faulkner opens Southern States Athletic Conference play Thursday when it hosts Bethel.
