MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Eagles basketball team (17-8, 9-6) had a field day on offense, blowing by Southern States Athletic Conference rival Mobile 70-52 on Thursday night at Tine Davis Gymnasium.
Faulkner went 12-for-25 from behind the 3-point arc, going 42 percent for the game, and shot 50 percent overall from the field.
The Eagles were solid on the defensive side of the ball for the majority of the night as well, holding the Rams to 35 percent shooting, 11 percent from three, forced 15 turnovers and Mobile didn't score their first field goal in the second half until under 12 minutes remaining.
Faulkner led by as many as 22 points in the first half and 29 points in the second half.
Lucas Luttrell led the way for the Eagles with 15 points, 3-for-5 from three, and added seven rebounds.
Logan Jozwiak also knocked down three 3-pointers, scoring 13 points on the night.
Marquis Grays, who was recognized before the game for scoring his 1,000th career point in a Faulkner uniform last week against William Carey, finished the game with 12 points.
The Eagles will honor their seniors on Saturday when they play in their final home game of the year against Loyola University. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
