MT. VERNON, Ga. - Faulkner (24-5, 11-5 SSAC) capitalized in two strong middle quarters of action to secure its eighth consecutive victory with an 80-54 knockout of Southern States Atheltic Conference foe Brewton-Parker (4-20, 2-14 SSAC) here in the regular season finale this afternoon.

The Lady Barons led by five points after the opening 10 minutes, but the Lady Eagles ignited a 44-14 run through the second and third quarters to put the contest out of reach.

Kayla Tillman became the newest member of the program's 1,000 point club and led the Faulkner attack with 18 points while knocking down 4-of-9 shots from 3-point territory.

Brandy Alley was lights out for the visitors with a double-double effort that included 16 rebounds and 11 points.

Nicole Shirley offered up 16 points for Faulkner while Chelsea Burt was good for another 13.

Overall, the team shot 41 percent from the field and 39 percent from behind the arc.

Faulkner will be the fourth seed in next week's SSAC tournament at the Cramton Bowl Multiplex downtown where it will open play against fifth-seeded William Carey at 8 p.m. Thursday.
