MARIETTA, Ga. – Faulkner's women's basketball team (18-5, 5-5 SSAC) went on the road and defeated Life University 66-62 on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Eagles went on a 6-0 run early in the first quarter and even led by as many as 11 in the opening period before Life made a run of their own and cute the lead to three just before the quarter ended.
After a lack of offense from both teams in the second quarter, Life was able to take a four-point lead going into the halftime break.
The game headed into the final period of play tied at 41.
The match was tied five different times in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Eagles never trailed and were able to hold on to the win.
Hannah Vest finished with a career-high 18 points in the contest.
Chelsea Burt came away with 14 points, followed by Nicole Shirley with 10.
The Lady Eagles will be back on the road on Thursday when they travel to Blue Mountain, Mississippi, to take on Southern States Athletic Conference foe Blue Mountain College at 5:30 p.m. Faulkner won the previous matchup in Montgomery 64-62 in overtime.
