BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Faulkner's women's basketball team (19-5, 6-5 SSAC) won in dramatic fashion over Blue Mountain College on Thursday evening when Kayla Tillman knocked down a last-second 3-point shot to give the Lady Eagles the 79-78 victory.
The Lady Eagles trailed after each period until they were able to take the final quarter and squeeze out the victory.
The Lady Toppers led by as many as 10 points in the second and third quarters, but a few quick runs kept the game close.
Tillman led the way for Faulkner with a total of 18 points, all of which came from behind the arc, where she went 6-for-10.
Inga Armstrong had a big night off the bench, scoring 14 points and adding eight rebounds.
Chelsea Burt finished with 10 points and four assists, and Brandi Alley neared a double-double, pulling down 10 rebounds and tallying nine points.
Faulkner will be back on the road on Saturday when they take on William Carey in Hattiesburg. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
