BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – The Eagles (16-7, 8-5 SSAC) bounced back after their dramatic loss to Dalton State last week with a 94-75 victory over Southern States Athletic Conference foe Blue Mountain College on Thursday night.
It was a tale of two halves, as Blue Mountain kept the game respectable throughout the first half, tying the game at times, and even grabbing a couple of slight margins.
The second half was a completely different story in favor of the Eagles. With less than nine and a half minutes remaining, Faulkner went on a 13-0 run that lasted close to five minutes, putting them up by 27 points. They even led by as many as 28 in the second half of play.
The Toppers made an attempt at a comeback, but the Eagles never let them get within 13, and even went on a quick 6-0 run to close the game out.
Faulkner's leading scorer, Marquis Grays, finished with a court-high 27 points, going 5-for-10 from behind the arc, and added seven rebounds.
Logan Jozwiak had a big night as well, scoring 20 pints and also pulling down seven boards.
Sean Edwards came away with 15 points, followed by Adnan Halilovic who recorded 11.
The Eagles will travel to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on Saturday to face off against No. 17 William Carey. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
