Faulkner could not capitalize on a strong defensive effort in the second quarter Monday, falling to Middle Georgia 65-60. 

The Lady Eagles got off to a rough start, trailing 8-3 before Megan Wilkinson (FR/Lumberton, Texas) drained a three for the first Faulkner field goal of the game with 3:56 left in the first quarter. Faulkner used a 16-5 run in the second quarter to carry a 30-27 lead into halftime. 

The Lady Eagles ran the lead up to nine in the third quarter before Middle Georgia mounted its comeback. The Knights finished the period on a 13-6 run. The game turned when Kianna Delas went on a personal 8-0 run to move the MGA lead to 57-52. Middle Georgia never looked back. 

Angela Grant (FR/Hoover, Ala.) paced Faulkner with 15 points and 19 rebounds. Ashlyn Adkins (SO/Locust Fork, Ala.) had 12 points. 

Delas notched 21 points while Dexshalyn Polite had 19. 

Faulkner (11-8, 4-6 SSAC) travels to Bethel Thursday before visiting Blue Mountain Saturday.
