Two key mistakes 170 seconds apart cost the Eagles each goal in a 2-1 loss to the RedHawks in an SSAC matchup Thursday night.

After collecting the ball on the end line to halt a Nawn Thang attack, Caio Calado (JR/Sao Bernardo Do Campo, Sao Paulo, Brazil) threw the ball back in front of goal to his defenders but misfired and Thang pushed the ball into the open net to strike first in the 57th minute. A few moments later, Martin Methodist delivered a quick free kick from right to left with Mario Lopez finding the head of Harald Sollund who knocked it down and past Calado to double the advantage.

After surviving two shots off the woodwork, Faulkner drew within one off a brilliant strike from the outside the corner of the penalty area by Dave Chesterman (SR/Carterton, Oxfordshire, England) taking the shot into the upper 90 on the far post with just under 12 minutes to play. The Eagles could not find an equalizer, however, as they dropped their fourth one goal game in conference play.

The Eagles enter a must-win game Saturday on Senior Day against 15th-ranked Bethel. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
