Faulkner saw its double digit lead whittled down all the way two in the waning seconds Saturday afternoon before Micala Fisanick (SO/Troy, Ala.) secured a defensive rebound off a last-gap shot to punctuate a 72-70 win over Florida Memorial.

The Lady Eagles were up by as many as 13 in the third quarter and 12 late in the fourth before the Lion press coupled with poor free throw shooting by Faulkner narrowed the gap.

Faulkner relied heavily on the defense of Kayla Harbin (SR/Hartselle, Ala.) in the second half to slow down Isis Lane after the forward posted 15 points in the first half. Harbin helped limit Lane to five points in the second half as Faulkner iced the game.

Ashlyn Adkins (JR/Locust Fork, Ala.) led the Lady Eagles with 15 points to go along with six rebounds and five assists. Angela Grant (SO/Hoover, Ala.) scored 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Channing Gafford (JR/Athens, Ala.) had 13 points while Fisanick had 11.

Faulkner (4-0) plays again Friday night against Lindsey Wilson at 7 p.m. as part of the SSAC-Mid-South Challenge.
