Just moments into the contest, Bethel drew a penalty and scored, setting the tone for a physical, contentious 2-1 conference loss where every touch and decision was contested at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium as Faulkner officially became eliminated from playing in the six-team field of the SSAC tournament. 

30 fouls were called in the 90 minute match with eight yellow cards scattered throughout as knocks and injuries prevented the match from gaining very much flow.

Pascal Mohungshi converted the spot kick opportunity in the first minute. Silvio Xavier doubled the guest's advantage in the 62nd minute.

David Cha (FR/Seoul, South Korea) opened his collegiate scoring account off an assist by Mateus Cesar (SR/Salvador, Brazil) in the 74th, sparking hope for a comeback. The Eagles would stay on the front foot for the final 16 minutes, but could not find an equalizer. 

Faulkner suffered its third 2-1 defeat in conference play and fifth one goal loss of the season.

The Eagles wrap up their season on the road Tuesday afternoon against Middle Georgia as each team seeks its first conference win of the season.
