Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Two days after putting together a strong performance in an exhibition contest against NCAA Division I foe Southern Miss, Faulkner returned home to cap non-conference play with a 79-61 victory over Point University.
The teams played to a stalemate through the one quarter of play before the Lady Eagles surged ahead in the second period. Faulkner would scarcely look back, running the lead to eight by halftime and all the way to 22 points in the fourth quarter.
Faulkner's offense was humming from the outset Monday as the Lady Eagles assisted on 24 of 27 made baskets while shooting 50.9 percent from the floor and 52 percent from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles also won the rebounding battle 36-27.
Ryann Sylvester (JR/Mobile, Ala.) turned in a season high 19 points to go along with six rebounds. Ashlyn Adkins (JR/Locust Fork, Ala.) contributed 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in the effort. Angela Grant (SO/Hoover, Ala.) finished with 13 points and seven rebounds. Kayla Harbin (SR/Hartselle, Ala.) notched career highs in assists with 10 and steals with four.
Faulkner (10-5) returns to conference play Thursday when it hosts No. 17 Loyola at 5:30 p.m.
