Lady Eagles soar on Elementary Day

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner put together one of its best all-around performances Thursday afternoon in front of a raucous crowd of elementary students as it downed Judson College 84-26.

The students from Alabama Christian Academy were engaged from the outset despite a slow start from the home team. Faulkner scored just 12 points in the first quarter before turning it on in the game's second period.

The Lady Eagles hung 26 in the second quarter, 20 in the third and 26 in the fourth on the way to the blowout victory. Faulkner limited Judson to single digit scoring in each quarter.

The Lady Eagles grabbed 62 rebounds in the game including 26 on the offensive end while holding Judson to only 23 total boards. Faulkner assisted 22 times on 32 made baskets. The Lady Eagles also tallied nine blocked shots while turning the ball over 13 times.

Ashlyn Adkins (JR/Locust Fork, Ala.) finished with 23 points, three rebounds and three assists. Angela Grant (SO/Hoover, Ala.) scored 18 points to go along with 15 rebounds and five blocked shots. Channing Gafford (JR/Athens, Ala.) had 10 rebounds. Micala Fisanick (SO/Troy, Ala.), Megan Wilkinson (SO/Lumberton, Texas) and Taylor Jones (SR/Montgomery, Ala.) finished with seven points apiece.

Faulkner (9-3) returns to action Friday, Dec. 13 at 5 p.m. when it takes on No. 7 Shawnee State.
