Halilovic, Skundric lead Eagles past Brewton-Parker

Box Score

Adnan Halilovic (SR/Mali Zvornik, Serbia) and Milan Skundric (JR/Negotin, Serbia) combined for 42 points and 17 rebounds Saturday afternoon as the Eagles wrap up their regular season with a 75-57 victory over SSAC foe Brewton-Parker. Halilovic ended with a career high 23 in his last game in Tine Davis Gymnasium.

Faulkner traded shots with the Barons before finding their rhythm. A two from Garrett Sanderson (SO/Montgomery, Ala.) and a three from Nate Bradley (JR/Concord, N.Y.) sparked a 16-4 run in the middle of the second half to pull away for good. Sanderson, who is fresh off his 400th career victory, was disappointed with the way his team came out today. "I'd rather have a root canal. We practiced flat and it showed. Hopefully we learned a lesson."

The Eagles shot 48 percent as a team from the floor on the evening. Halilovic went 10 for 12 from the floor and C.J. Jones (JR/Port Richey, Fla.) had 15 points shooting 50 percent. Faulkner found 14 points off of Baron turnovers. Sean Edwards (SR/Madison, Ala.) closed his Tine Davis Gymnasium career with three rebounds. Dmitrovic grabbed an offensive rebound on his senior day.

Faulkner ends the season sixth in the conferenceand will face Bethel Thursday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 9:45 p.m. "We need some bench play if we want to have a chance to go deep in the tournament next week." The Eagles split the series with Bethel and dropped an overtime heartbreaker to the Wildcats last season in the same round of the tournament.
