Lady Eagles fall in defensive struggle with William Carey

Box Score

A three pointer from Valentina Klocker (FR/Salzburg, Austria) tied the game at 45 with 7:06 left to play, but the Lady Eagles (12-12, 5-10 SSAC) would not find another bucket for another three and a half minutes as William Carey (9-11, 8-8 SSAC) converted nine of their 10 free throws in the frame to win the SSAC contest.

Both teams shot just slightly above 30 percent in the contest. Neither team had a player with more than 13 points. Klocker and Micala Fisanick (FR/Troy, Ala.) each scored 10 and were the only Lady Eagles in double figures. Klocker also led the team in assists. Ashlyn Adkins (SO/Locust Fork, Ala.) scored eight and Megan Wilkinson (FR/Lumberton, Texas) added seven off the bench. Olivia Colson led the team in rebounds with eight.

Faulkner committed 20 turnovers in the contest which was converted into 20 Lady Crusader points.

"When you hold a team to 50 points, you have to win those games," head coach Reed Sutton said. "We're rushing when we don't need to rush we just need to settle in and play basketball."

The Lady Eagles will travel to Middle Georgia Monday to face the Knights at 4:30 p.m.
