Faulkner rally falls short at Lindsey Wilson

Box Score

Faulkner's first road trip of the season proved a frustrating one Saturday in a 26-14 loss to No. 13 Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Raiders did most of their damage in the first half, carrying a 23-0 lead into the locker room. Lindsey Wilson tacked on a Jared Dougherty field goal early in the third quarter to move the advantage to 26-0 before Faulkner finally got off the deck.

Isaiah Scott (FR/Linden, Ala.) scored his first collegiate touchdown with 28 seconds left in the third quarter when scooped a scored on a punt that was blocked by Aaron Reynolds (SO/Dothan, Ala.). Alvin Renteria (JR/Phenix City, Ala.) added the PAT.

Scott got his second touchdown with 4:15 remaining in the game when he scored on a 24-yard connection from Mason Blocker (SR/Covington, La.). Renteria's PAT proved true again. The Eagles recovered the onside kick but a Mark Pruitt interception ended the threat.

Lindsey Wilson opened the scoring with 3:49 left in the first as Cameron Dukes hit Jay Gaudlock for a 35-yard scoring pass. Dukes punched it in from a yard out with 8:27 left in the second quarter to push it to 13-0.

With 3:16 to go in the opening half, Dukes found Tre Dickerson on a 37-yard scoring strike that capped a 77-yard drive. Dougherty added field goals of 21 and 28 yards for the Blue Raiders.

Blocker completed 33 of 46 pass attempts for 232 yards to go along with a touchdown and two interceptions. Scott hauled in nine passes for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Shae Taylor (SO/Tuscaloosa, Ala.), Antonio Gurley (SO/Andalusia, Ala.) and Daylon Fox (SR/Southaven, Miss.) recorded eight tackles apiece for the Eagle defense.
