Box Score MOBILE, Ala. – With only nine players available Monday night, Faulkner rolled into H. Austill Pharr Gymnasium and dominated from pillar to post for a 76-58 victory.
The Eagles hit the first shot of the game a little over a minute in and never lost the lead. Faulkner put together a 22-6 run that started at the 10:54 mark in the first half and ended with a Nate Bradley (SR/Concord, N.Y.) three with 5:26 until intermission. The Eagles got the lead as high as 26 before the break when Jacob Spence (SR/Fernandina Beach, Fla.) dropped a shot with 2:25 showing on the clock.
Mobile ended the first half on a 7-0 stretch to trail 44-25 at the break. Faulkner took back over in the second half, sharing the basketball during an 18-7 run that saw seven different Eagles score to run the lead up to 30 points. Mobile trimmed the deficit back to 18 points with a 14-2 run the culminated with 1:14 left in the game.
Faulkner limited Mobile to 33.3 percent shooting from the floor and 16.7 percent from beyond the arc. Faulkner countered with 52.5 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from three. The Eagles won the rebounding battle 38-22.
C.J. Jones (SR/Port Richey, Fla.) led Faulkner with a game high 18 points to go along with six rebounds and five assists. Bradley had 14 points and four assists. C.J. Williamson (SO/Guntersville, Ala.) finished with 14 points and eight rebounds.
The win is the seventh straight for the Eagles and the 11th in the last 12 outings overall. Faulkner (16-3, 7-1 SSAC) returns to action Saturday at 1 p.m. when it travels to face SSAC foe Middle Georgia State.
