MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner scored the first nine points of the game and scarcely looked back on the way to an 82-64 victory over Voorhees Monday night. The Eagles never surrendered the lead and held off multiple runs by the Tigers before pulling away in the second half by shooting 42 percent from the floor and 45 percent from three. The Eagles won the rebound battle 49-36 and outscored the Tigers in the paint 38-24.
C.J. Hines paced the Eagles with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Jalon Perry added 15 points while
Trace Hill had 15 points and six rebounds.
Jamel Cleveland had his best game as an Eagle with 12 points and six rebounds.
Faulkner (4-1) opens conference play Thursday when it travels to Mobile.
