MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner took the lead on the first bucket of the game and things never got close again as the Lady Eagles soared to an 88-37 win over Thomas Saturday night. In the penultimate game of the Jimmy Faulkner Classic, the Lady Eagles run to a 7-0 lead before Thomas got on the board. They then ended the quarter on a 20-4 run to carry a 27-6 lead into the second quarter.
Things got no closer in the second quarter as Faulkner opened the lead to 48-12 by halftime and led by as many as 52 in the second half.
Faulkner won the rebound battle 54-30 including 17 offensive boards that led to a 17-0 margin in second chance points.
Morgan Holland finished with 17 points and five rebounds.
Nequoia Adams notched 16 points while
Ashlyn Adkins had 15 points and four boards.
Lauren Allen topped the team with eight rebounds in addition to six points and three blocks.
Faulkner (3-1) returns to action next weekend when it travels to Henderson, Tenn. to face Cumberland University Friday and Freed-Hardeman Saturday as part of the Christian College Classic.
