Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | by: Carter Moles

Regular season ends in loss to Night Hawks

THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The hosts found the breakthroughs in what was on paper an even match as the Eagles fell 2-0 on the road to Thomas Saturday afternoon.

Faulkner's postseason outlook became slightly clearer as results around the league solidified a rematch with Middle Georgia. The two teams will be the four and five seeds but who will fill each spot will be determined Monday. A Middle Georgia loss would see the match played in Montgomery, but a Knight win or draw at William Carey places the match in Cochran, Ga. sometime Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

Mateo Arbelaez scored the first goal in the 26th minute and Salvador Marin delivered the dagger in the 85th.

The two sides each put five shots on target while the Night Hawks fired just one more shot than the Eagles.

The location, date and time for the playoff match against the Knights will be announced in the coming days. Stay tuned to FaulknerEagles.com and @FaulknerATHL on Twitter and Faulkner Athletics on Facebook for the schedule.
